The mental health and wellbeing of our students and school communities are of paramount importance to Novato Unified School District.  As we aim to holistically support students in their development toward the Novato Unified School District Graduate Profile, we are working to expand our wellness infrastructure TK-12.  Please check back for new district and local resources, updates, and support.

Supporting student wellness and mental health is a partnership. It truly does take a village to support our youth! If you have arrived at our wellness space to seek parenting support, please visit the educational resources linked below.

If you have specific concerns about your child’s mental health, please reach out to your school. School sites have limited, short-term counseling options through our community-based partners, Bay Area Community Resources and North Marin Community Services. The goal of school-based counseling is to develop the social-emotional skills needed to support educational success.

If your child needs additional services beyond the limited scope of school-based providers, a list of referrals to community agencies can be accessed here.

You may also want to contact your health insurance company for referrals. We cannot make referrals to specific providers or agencies.

To access services:

  • Elementary Sites: Reach out to your child’s teacher, community liaison, or principal.
  • Middle School Sites: Please reach out to your school counselor, assistant principal, community liaison, or your child’s teacher.
  • Alternative Education: Please reach out to your school counselor or site administrator.
  • San Marin High School and Novato High School: Please reach out to your school counselor or our wellness hub staff.

Please utilize the links below to find local, state, and national nonprofit agencies that provide educational resources to support parents and caregivers in our community.
